Command and Conquer: Kane's Wraith

EA Games launched Command and Conquer: Kane's Wrath,on 24th March 2008,  the prequel/sequel to Command and Conquer: Tiberium Wars.

In the past, I have stated that I would wait for this game to come down in price before buying.

However EA were including a Beta registration for Red Alert 3 in all boxes, which is something that I really want to try when it is released.

Amazon were selling Kane's Wrath for £15 on pre-order, which sweetened the deal for me.

Command and Conquer: Tiberium Wars is the continuation of CNC story after the end of Command and Conquer: FireStorm and up to and beyond Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars

The story is pretty good, and does explain a lot of open questions that were left from FireStorm. However the end of Kane's Wrath is left just as vague as Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars.

There are quite a few new units to play with, as well as sub factions for each of original faction.

EPIC Units are tier 4 units with incredible power and you can garrison units for extra abilities.

"Global Conquest Mode" is a brand new feature that makes this game worth buying. It is a Risk like. When your forces and your enemy come into conflict, you have the choice to fight for yourself or let the AI fight on your behalf. If you fight all your battles this mode will last for days. If you only use the AI, you could probably complete it in 1 hour.

My recommendation is play some battles and use the AI for others.

For a better explanation of all the new features.

Verdict: Great game, worth playing if only for Global Conquest Mode. However there are lingering interface problem, that existed in the CNC3.
